Kurdistan Women Union (KWU)
The Kurdistan Women Union (KWU), established in 1952, is the women’s organization affiliated with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP). Since its founding, the Union has played an important role in supporting women’s participation in political, social, and community life within the Kurdistan Region.
The KWU works to promote equality, social development, and the advancement of women’s rights within the framework of democratic governance and institutional reform. The Union encourages women’s active engagement in public affairs and contributes to strengthening civil society.
Mission
The mission of the Kurdistan Women Union is to:
